Please have a read of our Forest School news for this term :
Nursery and Reception
Our Nursery and Reception have been loving their time in our wonderful Forest school. They go out in all weathers and learn so much - from learning to get ready themselves, building resilience, weather and exploring nature. They take turns on the ladder, the slide, mud kitchen and also love pond dipping. Their highlight is definitely having a hot chocolate around the fire! As part of the Big Schools Birdwatch 2025 they helped to make birdfeeders which they put up in the trees.
Year 4
Our Year 4's have also been really enjoying their time in Forest school this term. Their sessions are less structured and more child led. Mrs Richardson puts out resources for them and they learn to develop their creativity and choose how they would like to play and explore.
They also took part in the Big Schools Birdwatch 2025. The children chose to group themselves into groups of 3, put food down for the birds and observed them for 30 minutes. Unfortunately on Friday 24th January there was a huge storm so the results were disappointing! They still managed to see Robins, Blue tits and Wood Pigeons but despite being disappointed with the poor results, it encouraged us to think about how weather can affect birds and how they survive in different conditions.
