As part of their learning linked to their IPC topic 'Express Yourself', our Year 5 pupils contributed to Centrepieces art project focusing on mental health.  Read more below to find out more about Year 5's contribution.

Our Year 5 teacher Mrs Handy has shared the following about the project:

"Belmont Academy invited Centre Pieces Mental Health Arts Project to visit our school in order to work alongside the year 5 pupils. During the day the children created pieces of art all about feelings and emotions. This work forms part of our topic for the term “Express Yourself. It was an enjoyable experience for the children, who were all able to express themselves through colour, mark making, clay and pastels. The children also learnt about the valuable work the charity does for mental health within our community.

Some examples of the children’s work will be on display in the pop up gallery in the old Argos building, Bexleyheath during the next few weeks.

We would like to say thank you to Karen, Peter and Lucy from Centrepieces for a very enjoyable day."
