We were very excited in Nursery and Reception today to have a visit from Ruxley Beekeepers with a hive of bees!  This is part of their ‘Amazing Animals’ topic.

It is Eurovision day at Belmont! All children and staff were asked to pick a country (for a small donation to our wonderful PTA) and dress to impress!

We have also asked the children to share a fact about their chosen country - they all look wonderful!

Belmont Academy have always supported RNLI Mayday Appeal. RNLI lifeboat and lifeguard services receive no government funding and rely on voluntary contributions and very much appreciate the support of our school.  Tower Lifeboat on the Thames is one of the busiest in the country and Southend-on-Sea is usually the busiest coastal station.

This week our Belmont Parliament children are visiting every class daily for children to make a donation and receive a sticker. We thank our families for their continued support with our chosen charities.

Yesterday some of our year 6 children took part in a basketball competition. This is a competition we enter every year as its very highly competitive. This year did not disappoint, the standard of players was very high. With the winners playing some unbelievable basketball. Belmont played very well and showed some true belief during all their games. We even managed to walk away with School Games Self-belief award!
